As we wrap up January, we can all agree it has been a long, cold month filled with more snow days and frigid temperatures than any of us hoped for. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and patience as winter made its presence well known.
Looking ahead, February brings many bright moments that we’re excited to share. Our kindergarten students are busy preparing for their upcoming concert, and we can’t wait to see our youngest performers shine on stage. Several of our school sports teams are also in full swing, and we are grateful for the dedication of our coaches and student-athletes who make time to participate, practice, and represent our school with Panther pride.
This month, we will also be celebrating Carnaval with a full day of outdoor activities designed to promote French culture, community spirit, and positive mental health and well-being. It is always a highlight of winter, and we look forward to a fun and festive day together. Throughout February, Orchard Park will also bring awareness to several cultural and community celebrations, including Lunar New Year, Maha Shivaratri, Valentine’s Day, and the start of Ramadan. These moments offer wonderful opportunities for learning, connection, and appreciation of the rich diversity within our school community.
Finally, we are very pleased to welcome Kristen Houghton as a new member of our Educational Assistant team. Please join us in extending a warm welcome as she settles into her new role.
